Juan is an amazing guide. He shares his passion and knowledge easily and it is infectious. My cousin and I had one day open in Bariloche and he made it exactly what we needed. He catered the hike to our experience/fitness and we got one hell of a work out. The views were incredible, but the hike itself was the best part. He helped us set a good pace and frequently checked if we needed anything, all the while carrying on great conversation! We experienced fall showers and early winter snows. He made accessible to us a wonderful experience that we would have missed out on without his guidance. I would 100% follow him or his team up any mountain, knowing that they are experts in what they do. I look forward to using this company again, hopefully for one of their multi-day trecs!

From the start, owner Juan Carlos provided exceptional communication and planning, and was very conscientious of our needs and abilities. He also arranged equipment checks, pick up and drop off, as well as lodging at the refugios. Great guy to work with. Could not have asked for a nicer and more competent team of professionals to plan and lead us on a 3 day trek throughout Nahuel Huapí National Park. The guide that led us through the trek, Thomas, was extraordinarily passionate about the mountains and the area, and was enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with us. Thomas constantly put our comfort and needs above his own throughout the trip, from helping us carry gear, preparing us meals and snacks, to teaching us proper mountaineering technique. He personalized our trip around our own preferences and abilities. All around great guy and we won't forget the 3 days we spent with him. Just finished an amazing kayaking experience with Juan today. My husband and I are beginners and Juan was the best teacher. He gave a very quick and thorough lesson before we started. He stayed close by to give us pointers until we were comfortable. He picked a great path and even brought a lunch tailored made for my celiac/gluten free diet. He is so knowledgeable and easy going. I felt like he was an old friend. His English is perfect. He is a very intelligent man with a kind heart. You cannot find a better guide!

If you are looking for private guided hiking, kayaking, and biking activities around Bariloche, Juan Carlos of Andemita is the best! We stayed in Bariloche and did multiple day trips from there, but he offers many other experiences - check out his website. I would advise booking early. Juan Carlos is very friendly and fun to be with. He is also easy to work with and flexible. He knows the Bariloche area well and is an experienced mountain guide. He speaks excellent English. He entertained us with many stories and shared his vast knowledge of Argentina - its history, culture, flora and fauna. - as we hiked. We especially enjoyed the Bellavista hike, with amazing views of the lakes, and the Frey Hut hike, with its spectacular otherworldly mountain vistas. Juan Carlos is a kayak instructor and the lake kayaking trip was relaxing and wonderful. We also mountain biked with Javier on a narrow path along lovely Lago Guillelmo below mountain ridges and with views of Cerro Tronador. Besides being an excellent easy-going friendly guide, Javier is a musician and sang and played the charango for us after lunch - what a treat! Spending time with Juan Carlos and Javier in beautiful Bariloche was one of the highlights of our trip to Chile and Argentina. So many wonderful memories!

Juan was an amazing guide who was an expert at snowshoeing and all things Bariloche. His English was phenomenal and we enjoyed spending the day with him hiking. We even got a beer with him afterwards! He also gave us some great restaurant recommendations after our tour. Would highly recommend if you’re into adventure activities!

Tripadvisor review: Trekking day in the mountains close to Bariloche Did a 4 day, 3 night trek overnighting in Frey and Jakob huts. The hike features changing landscape from dense forest to scrub brush to steep ridges. Breathtaking views hid around turn and over every hill. Our guide Juan Carlos was super helpful with gear and planning and also very knowledgeable about the landscape and wildlife, which really made the trip come alive! Also, we met some interesting people staying in the huts and enjoyed sharing travel stories. Trip of a lifetime!

Juan was a great guide. He was patient, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. The views were spectacular, some of the best we saw on our entire trip. We wanted to book another trek with him but the weather did not allow. He did help us book some adventures while in town, he helped us with some transportation questions, and even remembered to congratulate us on our wedding day! We cannot say enough kind things about Juan and his services. You cannot go wrong by booking with him.
